Worked great, until it didn't. Used twice, then stopped working.
On/Off switch is also confusing; only symbols, which aren't intuitive at all.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Dangerous Product

This blanket seemed like a good idea for travelling and camping. I tried it out when I took it home. It seemed to work fine. When I pulled out the 12V plug, I had to drop it as it was scorching to the touch. This was after only operating it for about two minutes. I am surprised that the plug didn't melt. This product is an accident waiting to happen. Item returned.

Fonctionne très bien. Je l'ai eu deux ans sans problèmes. J'en ai acheté deux par la suite. Excellent pour avoir chaud au volant l'hiver :)
the blanket was listed as battery operated. I didn't realize you meant the car battery ...as I was hoping to be able to plug it in or use portable batteries, outside of the car.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I don’t know if it was just mine but the plug-in started to burn with a terrible smell. Only the first time it was plugged in and turned on

Q: Temperature range and Battery powered?
What is the temp. range of this blanket, and can it be battery powered?

A: I changed the wire from a cigarette lighter plug to female plugs that clip onto a 12 volt battery pack (also sold at Canadian Tire) that is about the size of a Laptop Computer's Battery.
Now I can take the blanket to the ball games and when it starts to get chilly, I attach the wires to the battery pack (which is held onto the blanket with a small pencil case) and enjoy the warmth for about 4 hours per charge!

Q: What kind of portable power pack would I need to run this for, say, six hours, for example?
1 Answer
A: The current rating of this heated blanket is 5.5A which powered by DC12V car cigarette plug, if use 6 hours, then needs 5.5*6=33AH. Suggest the customer to buy a power pack that have 12V output socket and the battery capacity above 33AH.

Q: Does it have auto shut off and can it be used (if not, why) when engine is not running?
1 Answer
A: This item has no auto shut off, and it works under the socket power, it depends on whether the socket has power or not instead of the engine is running or not. for some cars, when the engines are not running, the cigarette socket will have no power; while others, the cigarette sockets power is not affected by the engine.
