Hatchimals Surprise Peacat

We got the peacats for our daughters 5th birthday and they are the perfect gift. She loves them! She has her whole class wanting a Hatchimal.

My daughters got the hatchimals surprise-peacat for christmas and twin B is already quit working because of the connection piece to the battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hatchimals Surprise is such an awesome toy. Although I'd heard of it, Me and my 6 year old didn't quite know what to expect. We were definitely in for a treat! The packaging was easy to open and the egg was a pretty good size. My daughter was super excited because the egg was a bit large she could tell something was inside. I read the instructions and advised her to start rubbing, cuddling, and talking to her egg. The egg began to glow, light up, shake a bit, and we could hear noises coming from inside much to our delight. After a few minutes, the egg shell begin to crack and we saw a furry head begin to emerge. There was a furry baby that hatched, eyes glowing, wings moving, and it was making noises. Then it began to sing "Happy Birthday". My daughter started giggling and singing along. Then she said loudly, "mommy, there is another one down inside and it's coming out too"!! She was very excited. The second furry baby also emerged and was also babbling with it's eyes lighting up a different color. We had a set of very cute identical twins!! I looked at the enclosed cheat sheet to determine which Hatchimal was who, because they each have their own personality and needs. The Hatchimals are also able to interact with each other when facing each other. You can press on their heads, stroke their sides, etc to get the furry babies to interact. According to the guide, the Hatchimals twins will start as babies, then move to toddler stage, then on to kids. My daughter has had hours of fun playing with her Peacat Hatchimals. She loves taking care of them and watching their responses to her. I would definitely recommend this toy for the holiday, gift giving, or just because. It is a joy and treat and allows your child to practice a bit of nurturing and responsibility.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hatchimals Peacat Twins is an interactive robotic AI type toy that interacts with children and each other! They start in an egg that must hatch with interaction in order to play with the twins. The twins go through stages from baby, toddler, and child; changing their behavior in each stage. My 7 year old daughter has been in love with Hatchimals since they first game out on the market. She was sooooo excited by the idea of twins! When she first opened the box with the Peacat Hatchimals she spent all day carrying the egg around, encouraging hatching. The egg went with us to the store, the horse stable, and I'm fairly certain, the bathroom. Finally, it hatched; I'm sure there was some assistance! The two little Hatchimals Peacats were adorable! After reading the card that came in the package insert we learned that they were in the baby stage. We learned what the eye colors and sounds mean. She had a blast figuring out what what they were saying and letting them talk to each other. My 11 year old swooped in and began playing with one of them and it was nice that the two of them could play together in a constructive fashion. The kids, mostly my 7 year old, has continued to play with the Peacats they have developed into the toddler stage. Eventually, they will grow into the childhood stage. The needs of the toys change as they move through the stages, and the way they interact with each other changes as well. My daughter still enjoys them and plays with them almost daily. From a parent perspective, they are great for constructive play, teaching empathy by caring for something, and since there are two both of my kids can play together. However, as a parent, I find them noisy. There is quite a bit of cooing, giggling, and squeaking that happens, and the toys make nose too! ;-) It is nice there are off switches. I also like that for a more expensive toy the fun doesn't end after a few days, it can be played with for a long time, maintaining the kids interest.
