This grill is pretty good. I've used it several times, for various foods and overall, I'm quite satisfied with the flavor and tenderness of the items I've grilled so far. As for design, well, that's why I'm only giving 4 stars.
The power cord is way too short. I get the whole safety thing, but seriously, it's far too short. The lid also bothers me. It opens way too far, almost a full 180 from the cooking surface. Why? The lid gets very hot, so the fact that it goes so far back means it needs to touch my wall (because of the super short cord). It's too hot for the wall, so I've basically had to increase my counter surface to allow the lid to fully open when I'm flipping or turning my food.
But other than those slight design flaws, I highly recommend this indoor grill. Clean-up is a breeze and having temp control is nice too, rather than a simple on/off, like my previous Hamilton Beach grill.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I love it

I gave it 4 stars only because the first grill I bought just stopped working after less than two years. But I liked it so much when it did work I went and got another one. This is the best grill I've had. It's virtually smokeless, the hood keeps food juicy and tender and just as good as on any outdoor grill. It's plenty big enough and very easy to clean.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Want to go back to George Foreman
Cord is unbelievably short, lid gets caught on it constantly and disconnects from the body. Incredible flimsy lid construction. Lid side 'Connector' broke after 1 year of minimal use which means the handle is no longer usable. . The only plus was the removable grill grids. Will dispose of this and buy a George foreman with removable grids, as that was the only downside of the GF that we had for years before it became an option in the GF

A: Depends on the size of the burger of course but if you're asking about typical frozen patties - I'd say between 6 to 9. The photo in the store ad showing grill space is accurate.

Q: i like my steak medium and my husband likes his steak medium rare, are there settings or timing for this?

A: There is a great little booklet that comes inside the box from Hamilton Beach that has a grilling guide for a few different foods. Steaks are one of them. I like my steak medium rare. I used the guide's recommended timing with the grill and the steak was perfect.

I have used the grills with the solid surface plates to cook bacon in the past with excellent results but, am concerned that this grill might catch on fire due to the bacon drippings running through the openings in this grill plate.

If you do cook chicken pieces with bones in them, do you remove the lid, or will they fit with the lid still on? Does it take a long time to cook chicken if this is an option? Thanks.
