This is my usual mulch. I love that I can walk into my garden, even after heavy rain, and not get muddy. I now have some plants that are slowly creeping into the mulch but, because of the texture I can easily remove unwanted plants. I do not use landscape fabric underneath because it does NOT prevent weed growth, just makes it more difficult to remove them.
