A lithium-ion battery lifespan is determined by the charging and discharging cycles and is dependent on many different variables such as: storage, temperature, charge, and handling. A “normally” used battery can last over 1000 cycles. A cycle means that the battery goes from fully charged to empty and then fully charged again. A battery is considered a consumable and over time may lose the ability to store the same amount of energy as it did at the beginning of its life cycle. In optimal conditions 40V lithium-ion batteries typically have a lifespan of up to 2,000 charging and discharging cycles (1,000 with a rapid charger). Greenworks 40V batteries are backed by a 3-year manufactures warranty. We recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim.
