Model 29622 is incorrect replacement spool

I am happy with the trimmer but the listed replacement spool is not the correct model for the 21142. The fit isn't even close. The 21142 spool nearly 2" tall and has a 1-inch opening on one end and a 2-inch opening on the other end.
The suggested replacement part 29622 has a 3/8-inch on both ends and is only 1-1/8 inch tall. It does not even come close to fitting on the 21142

I don't know on what planet this qualifies as "adjustable" as it is nothing of the sort. The handle is incredibly long, and the weight is poorly balanced. I'm a petite woman and I found it utterly unusable. I thought maybe it was just suited for a man, but I asked my 5'10" boyfriend if he could use it and he agreed it was an awful design. It's ergonomically a complete mess. Trimming grass with this is like trying to shave with a longsword. Doesn't expand or contract, doesn't rotate, and it says it's adaptable but that feels like a lie. I deeply regret this purchase.

Unfortunately, currently, we do not have anything that is much shorter. While the units are not adjustable, for the best control and balance, ensure that you hold the trimmer by both the switch handle and the auxiliary handle. Stand with the cutting head tipped down at an angle in front, guiding the grass trimmer/edger in a semicircular motion around you. We hope this information has been helpful.

head fell off

i used it a few times and the head just came off one time. i now has a none working trimmer since the head I not cover under the warranty.

Impossible to replace string

It is impossible to replace the string and the directions in the manual are useless. It's also very heavy and difficult to use.

Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns! We are sorry to hear of the challenge you are experiencing with the trimmer line. The trimmer head on this unit is made for easy replacement of the string on the spool.
We understand that for some new customers this task may seem overwhelming/difficult but once they do it a few times it’s quite easy – as easy as replacing a spool. It is also cheaper and more convenient for customers to rewind the trimmer head because they can use any generic .080” trimmer line(purchased at your local hardware store) and save money on more costly replacement spools.
There are two methods in which the trimmer line can be replaced. You will need approximately 15' of trimmer line at .080" inches in diameter.
For the first method: Note the hash mark on the knob and the hash mark on the spool cover, while holding the spool cover in place with one hand , turn the knob until the hash mark line up with the hash mark on the spool cover. Then take the trimmer line and feed it through one of the holes in the side of the head until there is an even amount on both sides. Then wind the line into the spool by turning the knob clockwise. If you wish to readjust the line or if the line has been wound too short, push down on the knob and wind it counterclockwise. Be sure to leave about 5 inches of slack on each side of the spool.
Second method: Remove the spool cover by simultaneously pushing the two tabs located on side of the spool cover. The cover should spring off, lift the spool out and feed line through hole in the center of the spool until you get an even amount of line on each side. Put the spool back in the trimmer head, making sure that both sides of the line go back into the grooves in the trimmer head, continue to hold the spool in place. Take the spool cover and put it back onto the trimmer, using both hands press down firmly to ensure that the taps lock into place, you can now rotate the knob on the spool clockwise to rewind the line back in making sure to leave the 5 inches of line on each side of the spool.

Q: HOw easy is it to change over the string/cassette?

A: It's relatively easy to change the string...it's similar to most other string trimmers out there. Pop the cartridge out, load/wind the string in place, and put the cartridge back in place. There is a little knob that screws in to release the cartridge (no tools required)
