Endures wear and extreme cold

I used black gorilla tape to cover weatherstripping along a short (about 7 in) spot at the bottom of my car door. I drag my foot over that spot getting in and out of the car so paying for weatherstripping replacement was cost prohibitive. The tape has lasted just over 2 years and has just started wearing to the point I will need to re-cover part of it. I took pictures this spring because I was so amazed at how it lasted this winter. It has withstood temperatures from -40 to +80 over the two years, including one of the coldest winters in 100 years for interior Alaska. It withstood the temp range, the temp changes, and constant wear. The only thing it didn't experience was temps higher than upper 80s. I can't vouch for that.

A: - never tried it - however, methinks if it's real smooth concrete, than I'd say yes - on the porous stuff, I doubt if the tape would adhere very well or stay on for long - just my suspicion - good luck on whatever project you're working on and hoping the tape will solve -

A: Appropriate yes ! Permanent No ! If taped from the underside for a small spark hole or small rip it would likely last for a season if weather conditions are not too extreme. The heavy thick and shiny black tape might be a good first layer followed by a camo layer... If you tried to cover the whole tarp it would likely be easier to just by a camo tarp however !
