Questions
Q: So what happens when the temperature is below -15C ... does the whole thing just shut down, does the doorbell work but no video, does it just start working again when it warms up or is the unit permanently damanged??
2 years agoA: We live in Toronto and have ours mounted on the front porch brick wall it gets a fair bit of weather including very cold temps - no issues with it so far and it’s been a few years. This is the wired version, with the thinner battery operated version you might not want.

Q: What is the camera range. Day and night?
3 years agoA: In daylight, Google Nest cameras can see about as far as you can, and their wide angle lens has a field of vision almost as wide as the human eye. Nest cameras also have Night Vision to be able to see in the dark. Night Vision range depends on how much light there is, but most Nest cameras have a range of about 20 feet in the dark. If there are any light sources in the area, your camera may be able to see even farther. If you want to take a closer look, you can use the Nest app to digitally zoom. And with the Enhance feature (only available for cameras and doorbells set up in the Nest app), you can also tell your doorbell to stay zoomed-in on a particular spot all the time.

6 years agoA: Without a Nest Aware subscription the Nest Hello will still provide notifications and you'll be able to see snapshots of any activity detected within the past 3 hours, however to be able to review and save previous footage, create Activity Zones, and receive advanced notifications, you'll need to have a Nest Aware subscription.
