Battery doorbell camera

Easy to set up and use within minutes , a bit expensive but overall good value for ability to monitor 24/7 by cell phone, recommend getting a solar panel compatible with google proper connection to hook up for automatic recharge up to 70 percent , gives good angle view wide and high, recognizing people, animals, package motion, recommend setting people, animals,package but not motion as to many alerts depending on your location. Night view is good. Recommend getting nest account and using Google home app for phone to keep videos history 60 days

I didn’t want to have to bother wiring a doorbell, so when I saw this had a battery only option I was sold! I live on a super busy street and so far I’ve had the camera up for a full week and it’s only used 20 percent of the battery! Amazing camera picture quality!!!

Better than the others

This was my third camera purchased for the front door. The other two were also major brands. So far the Google camera has made me happy. The battery lasts 2-3 weeks (in -30). So far it has connected live every time I've used that feature (this was my problem with the other two types- they wouldn't connect). I like how it detects a package but will also tell you when the package has been removed. The facial recognition is also cool and works well.

Does not work in cold weather

This thing is designed in California, and will not work in prolonged winter temperatures we have in Canada. The thing runs off battery EVEN WHEN HARDWIRED, there is no way around the battery, and the battery fails below -10c. It will not charge via doorbell wires, and you have to unhook it and take it inside to charge via USB for at least 5 hours.

No, I do not recommend this product.

When the weather is extremely cold, your camera or doorbell might need more power to run properly. If you live somewhere with extremely cold weather, your camera or doorbell might get a low battery more often than you expect. You might also notice that your camera or doorbell uses up its battery faster during the colder winter months. If your camera is outdoors, try to move it someplace like under an eave so that it’s better protected from cold temperatures.
