Q: CIL golfgreen gold fall fertilizer Can this be applied at the same time as seed when overseeding in the fall?

A: We do not recommend applying any Spring or Fall Lawn Fertilizers at the same time as grass seed. The high percentage of Nitrogen can damage the new seedlings, plus neither contain any Phosphorous which is essential in promoting a health root system. Instead we would recommend applying CIL Golfgreen Starter Fertilizer 10-20-5. This formula has been specifically blended to give your grass seed the best boost possible, right at the time of germination. The higher percentage of Phosphorous will create a dense healthy root structure, which in turn will give you strong healthy and thick grass. Once the grass seed has germinated and you have had to mow it three times, you may then apply CIL Golfgreen Fall Lawn Fertilizer, which will help condition your lawn for Winter.
