    Held up under my abuse

Commenting only because of complaints about the stiffness opening the blade. It gets better with some time, maybe some lube, but manly with use. work it it in. if its too loose and opens in your pants you might have a bigger complaint when it stabs you. im shocked this knife has held up to my abuse. i used it with a hammer to chop wood once, using it as a ninja star, screw driver, wood splitter etc. bought it onsale of course. a little heavy for my liking.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Gerber Paraframe Clip Folding Knife...ok knife.

Was looking for a quick opener. Was as disappointed as a previous reviewer concerning quick deployment until I devised a way to flick it open easily with my thumbnail. Problem fixed. Still a poor design tho. Cheap steel too...Looks pretty however for those concerned with that and for the money a decent beater. [Only bought this because of the sale price...had I been able to test it, I wouldn't have purchased it.] So yeah, the thing came wrapped in that hard plastic packaging...no way to check the action before buying. Not a fan of partly serrated blades either but it's a knife I'll use to save my EDC Case. Wait for the sale if this thing seems like it's calling your name...or keep looking around ...preferably for something you can handle prior to purchase.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Dissapointment

I previosly bought two different Gerber folding knives that I was happy with, except that they were a little big for EDC pocket knives. So I tried the Gerber Paraframe Tanto when it went on sale. At first glance the size and weight are perfect and it looks well constructed. However as soon as soon as you have it in your hand its short comings are apparent. Stiff action at the pivot makes quick deployment impossible. There is no way to rectify this. If you have no reason to want to quickly open this knife - eg. just use it as a utility knife, then it should do the job quite well. Disappointment for what I was looking for.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Poor all around.

When I saw the Gerber Paraframe Tanto on sale at my local CT, I thought 'why not?'. At first glance it looks like a nice well constructed little knife. However as soon as its removed from the package its short comings are apparent. Very stiff action at the pivot makes quick deployment near impossible. loosening pivot screw to aid in deployment only adds exsesive blade play. Frame lock jams making lock release difficult. Blade steel loses its edge fast. On top of all this the knife comes smothered in oil. A full break down and cleaning was required. Large thumb studs catch on pocket making removal difficult. But hey; it was on sale, right? It will make a good beater for my junk drawer. Steer clear if you're looking for a new EDC. Recommended alternatives at Canadian Tire: Buck Vantage, Buck SlimLine. If you're buying elsewhere try a Kershaw Leek or Scallion. All these are around the same price or slightly more than the Gerber, and are made in the USA. Don't be fooled by the "Tacticool".

No, I do not recommend this product.
