Not Good For Cold Climates

This lock replaced a Master lock that was on my shed for over 10 years. The Master lock froze once in a while but this lock is frozen every time I try to open it.

Waste of money!

Ive had this lock for a week....we got one snowfall and cooler temps and the lock wont open. Water seeped in and has froze the lock. Of course can't return it now because i dont have the packaging

Keyway Cap Not Water Resistant

When exposed to the elements here in rainy Vancouver, the water seeps in between the cap that covers the keyway and the main thermoplastic coating on the lock. So the statement on their website that the "Thermoplastic keyway cover seals out moisture" is incorrect in that it actually funnels water into the keyway and will cause it to rust. I have since cut off the keyway cover to prevent the keyway from sitting in water and rusting.

The perfect lock

I got this lock for my locker at school it’s good to keep special needs kids out that do not have permission. it’s perfect the only thing I had to do is I had to peel off the layer on the loop of the lock I would recommend this to anyone

Q: Do these locks freeze? I need a padlock for an outdoor shed that will not freeze.

A: The locks are weather resistant and provided the customer takes care to not let water get into the lock when it is open and closes the bottom keyway port when it is closed the lock should not freeze. Freezing only occurs when water gets inside the lock and this usually happens if the consumer unlocks the lock and then leaves it hanging with the shackle open and water or snow gets inside.
