This is one of the strongest chains I've purchased. I use it to secure my snowblower because I do not have a garage or shed. I'm sure it will deter theives. And I like the cloth cover. I wish it was a bit longer though. But overall, a very strong chain.

Q: What is the thickness of the chains?

A: Chain link is 3/8 thick, or 9.52mm. where the link is bent in the corners the thickness is 13/32. Weight is 4.003lbs or 1823grams. I purchased the Master Lock No.40 this is ideal with a 3/8 curved shaft, this lock is disc shaped and will not allow any sized cutter into the gap.
