Garrison 12LED Aluminum 3AAA Flashlight

Not a bad little flashlight, though the package says the runtime is only 4 hours. You can certainly find other LED flashlights of the same size that have far longer runtimes, while offering basically the same brightness. So, while this may not be a flashlight you'd like to use for walking at night, camping, or other uses where a longer runtime is desired, it's perfect for keeping in places where your usage requirements won't be quite as long. The flashlight is made of hard aluminum and It feels durable and well constructed. Shaking or gently banging the flashlight did not result in any LED flicker, as is common on many other cheap LED flashlights. The on/off switch is located right on the tail cap, which is nice as you can always find it easily. It has only two modes, on or off. The flashlight itself measures 4" (10cm) long, and a fairly long lanyard is included. Remove the tail cap to insert or replace the batteries. 3-AAA batteries are used. It is best to use alkaline rather than carbon-zinc or rechargables, as they will last longer both when the flashlight is in use, and when being stored for long periods. The batteries are installed in a plastic tube, and the polarity symbols (+ and -) are stamped on the ends of the battery tube to help you identify which way to install each battery. An arrow on the side of the plastic tube itself indicates which way the tube should be inserted into the flashlight once the batteries are installed.
