Not to expectations! Especially having to pay $69.99 for it

I used this on 1/2” drywall with steel studs behind it.
There was many false positives in which I had to go back to double check.
Having saying this, I marked off 15 holes to pre-drill & insert 1/4” anchors in which only 8 out 15 hit the steel/metal studs. If I did the math correctly, that is only 54% accurate which is not good for a $70.00 product that has 13 sensors.
The 7 other holes that did not hit the metal stud, I now have to spend more $$$ on using the toggle bolts plus also having to drill larger holes into the wall!
In this case I don’t recommend this product for metal studs!

Not as consistent as I expected

When it works, it is great, but most of the time as I scan back and forth on a wall, the reading will come and go or change significantly from one location to another. I have carefully followed all the instructions about hand placement, etc., and it just isn't consistent, so I'm left a bit disappointed. I spent more on this in the hopes that it would save me time compared to a regular stud finder, but I don't know that I'm any faster with this than the basic "scan both directions to the beep" type.

This is the third stud finders i’ve purchased over the years, last one I thought would be good was a bosch which at best was Ok. This one work as I hoped it would, simple to use with accurate results, finally have a unit I am happy with.

The Franklin Stud Sensor M210 is much more than a stud sensor. It can also sense other items behind the walls. The best and safest feature being able to sense live wires. Its wide span, about 7 inches has 13 sensors that light up in red when studs are located. The live wire sensor capability spans about 1 inch and lights up in yellow when wires are located. A very important feature when needed to hang things to ensure safety around live wires.

A: Most definitely, theres a reason Franklin sensors are highly sought after,I like so many others used to buy on price alone. It wasn't until I had spent a great deal of time and $$ on cheap imitations, did I research what made this so much better than all the rest. Their patented 13 Sensor array gives them a distinct advantage of all others. What are you waiting forget out and buy the BEST Stud Sensor on the market, You Won't regret it!!

A: Yes, the image is of a different model. The M210 has 13 sensors (lights) as well as additional features (live electrical detection, bubble level, etc..). This product is just launching to stores now and the image will be updated shortly.
