There’s a little lock you have to turn before you put this in the water. If you don’t it could open easily and you’ll have your minnows swimming away. I returned this without trying it

A: Thank you for your question. The bucket has side ventilation holes so the water can flow through the bucket while it is submersed in the water. The handle allows you to attach a rope to tether it to the boat or dock.
