Missing remote

Box packaging looked like it had been resealed. Despite our apprehension, staff assured us it was fine and everything was included. Upon unwrapping, we found there was no remote for the fireplace included. We've been attempting to obtain a replacement remote from the manufacturer (as directed in the instructions), for more than 2 weeks now.

For Living Electric Fireplace Insert brand new -can’t get parts

We bought a Fireplace/TV stand from Canadian Tire 3 years ago. Unfortunately after about 15 months the fireplace stopped working. Finding the right sized replacement insert was frustrating, but we came across the For Living unit at the Prince George Canadian Tire and it fit the space so on Dec. 28, 2023 we bought the For Living insert, took it home, installed it and turned it on. It worked great. Unfortunately on Dec. 31, 2023 our very large Bloodhound puppy grabbed the remote and gave it a hard chew, rendering it useless. I went to Canadian Tire and the told me to call the number on the instruction booklet, which I did. The very nice Customer Service representative told me they list no parts for this unit. Why are they selling it then. Should I take the whole unit back? It’s one week old, and they don’t stock parts. Come on Canadian Tire, I know it’s not their fault my puppy chewed the remote, but that’s not the problem. Breaking a remote isn’t an unheard of occurrence. You could accidentally spill something liquid on it, step on it, our just lose it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Pretty decent unit!

Initially I was very reluctant to pick up this unit simply because I wanted an actual gas fireplace but it is way more expensive. My wife was the one who said to try it...so I did. Very decent flame settings which go bright to dim. In a dark room it gives it a nice ambiance. Pumps out decent heat. I did have to frame it out of 2x4 then stained it black. My opinion for those who are looking..I've seen very expensive electric fireplaces that don't look as nice as this one. For $340 bucks it's a nice unit. There might be people complaining about the 'fakeness' of the flame but there are ones that look worst for way too much money. I think the flames look great! The other factor for me getting this is safety for my grandson❤️.

A: Hi There, I, personally have owned 2 now. I set it at one temp and let that stay at that. As far as I know it does not adjust on its own.

A: As a general rule, keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) away from the front of the fireplace, 1.5 feet away from the sides, and never near the rear or the unit. You should leave between eight and 12 inches of space between your fireplace and television, from what we found. When it comes to clearance, try to leave around three feet of space in front of your electric fireplace and avoid placing combustible items near it
