Glad 12V bulbs are still available

These brought our old NOMA star tree topper back to life (051-8338-8). After replacing all the bulbs, it was as bright as when we first bought it. We bought enough to replace all the bulbs in that tree topper a second time, as these 12V bulbs are getting harder and harder to find. They're usually only used in accent pieces like tree toppers with ~10 lights in series, as 120V / 10 bulbs = 12V per bulb. Make sure to check the bulb voltage on your specific lights, as most strands are in the 2.5V-3.5V range. Some strands have a tag specifying the voltage, other say so on the original box. These will be horribly dim if used in a strand meant for 2.5V bulbs.

Q: How do I know what replacement mini Christmas incandescent lamps I need? I see voltage and current ratings listed, but not for whether they are for a 10 lamp, 20 lamp, 50 lamp, etc string. I'm looking for replacements for a 20 lamp string.

A: There is no wattage listed on the package but it is possible you have the wrong voltage. If your light string is configured for 2.5 or 6 volts then a 12 volt bulb will be dim.
