Fabulous rust remover

Excellent for removing rust and freeing up moving parts that were totally seized. The only downside is the pungent odor which dissipates after a day or 2.

Works great on rust.

Works great on rust, fantastic to use with a penetrating fluid. This is not a wise choice for vehicle undercoat as it will wash off in a week, with many better options on the market not sure why people waste their money on fluid film for that application. It has its time and place, works fantastic on dry rotted fasteners in conjunction with a penetrating oil.

Q: I’m guessing this would work well for the connectors between a trailer and truck to prevent corrosion?

  • A: You could get away with using it but I would suggest using something like the white lithium grease if you are using it near electrical components

Q: Is Fluid Film spray the best choice for outdoor winch metal cable protection and what is the periodicity of applications ?

2 Answers
  • A: Before switching to synthetic cable on my new ATV / Winch I used this product, I would pull the entire metal cable out (at least once a year) and spray liberally on a rag, and then wipe along the cable (make sure you wear heavy gloves and a thick rag)

Q: Can it spray on suspension, control arms and brake area behind the wheel drums?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, Absolutely. It can be sprayed onto everything minus brake rotors and pads. Inside the drum is fine, as long you don't spray the 2 sections of the drum and pad that touch for braking. The hardware itself behind the drum can be sprayed.

Q: The spray can says it's flammable. If I spray on some rusted bolts NEAR but not ON the muffler and heat shield, will it cause a fire?

1 Answer
  • A: No, it will smoke off if it comes in contact with a very hot item. The Flammable symbol is there due to the propellant to shoot the Fluid Film product out of the can. The Fluid Film itself is classified as non-flammable. However, you should never spray any aerosol products directly on to an open flame. Thank you.
