I bought this for my venmar . Fits perfect

Perfect.

I cut these down to size for forced air vents so dog hair doesn't get drawn in. Saves so much time in the long run.

Test project- First time trying, but looks well made.

This is my first time trying this washable filter material, so can’t really comment on quality of the material. However I still find this product expensive for what you get.

Many Uses

I used this product to filter dust and dog hair on my dehumidifier. Just measure, cut to size, place over original filter and use velcro strips to keep in place. Really works well!

Great air flow

Being that my Olson furnace originally came with a hi flow sponge mesh filter I wanted to maintain that standard. I put on the standard paper filter and found there was no support and was trying to pull the filter into the fan housing. I went with the one viewed assisted by the frame of the original filter. Such great flow thus shortening the heating cycle and saving money. I suggest u check your air flow at the vents. Can test with a simple Kleenex paper clipped to the heating grid in any room. Don’t need a fancy anemometer that measures air flow.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Wouldn't the filter get sucked into the blower without a frame?

Q: Can you use this as a pre-filter with a 4-in disposable HEPA filter on the side away from the blower?

1 Answer
  • A: I suggest you refer to the furnace/heat pump manual to determine the pre-filter type. I would say you require a higher level of filtration (MERV 8) to extend the life of the HEPA filter.

Q: Can I use lysol or something to kill germs or only hot water. I don't have access to a outdoor hose in the winter so this would have to be done in my bathtub.

1 Answer
  • A: Rinsing in the bathtub with hot water should remove the majority of the captured particles. You could add a little dish soap if needed as long as you rinse all the soap off. Allow the filter to fully dry before installing back in the furnace.

Q: Can be this used when heat is on ?? I am fetting confused as material is synthetic so anyone had any problem while keeping heat on in furnace with this filter?

1 Answer
  • A: The Permanent Furnace filter is safe to use for both Heat and A/C. It is installed on the cold air intake side of the furnace so the air it is filtering would be room temperature.

Q: I recently purchased one of these and it had no frame. How do you insert into the furnace without something to guide it in.

1 Answer
  • A: This filter is designed to go in a nominal 1" furnace filter space. It slides into the track without requiring a frame.

Q: Can I use it in exhaust duct of in-suite vertical fan coil heating system? I have filter in intake and want to add filter to exhaust too to reduce amount of dust. Will it do? Is it very restrictive?

1 Answer
  • A: Unfortunately, I am not able to confirm if two filters in your system will cause issues you would need to ask your installer for an accurate answer. I can say we normally would only recommned the filter on the intake side. I can also comment that the testing on a clean permanent filter shows low airflow restriction. (Approximately .06 InWG)

Q: What is washing procedure? And how often should it be washed to be effective? I'm told this type of filter can do more harm than good if it is allowed to get too dirty.

1 Answer
  • A: 1) The easiest way to wash this filter is outdoors with the garden hose. 2) The filter should be washed at least monthly. Some households with high dust levels may wish to clean the filter more often. 3) This statement is true for all furnace filters. As a filter loads with dirt it can restrict the airflow of the furnace. In order to avoid harm to the furnace or A/C unit the filter should be regularly checked and cleaned/replaced.
