Do i legally need them NO... are they a good idea probably/possibly?

Bought 2 of these. They are a "cheap" option. Plastic is plastic including the hinge...they could have used a metal rod and made that stronger but they didn't. Foam is loose on the insides should be glued in but its not. The 4 lock holes work as intended. I use these to transport pellet guns...not legally required but i figured it couldnt hurt.

Q: Does it come with the foam inside? I got one via curbside pickup. But there is no foam inside after I opened it when I come back home.

A: Yes, it should have foam inside. I have bought about 40 in the past 3 years to ship a tool we manufacture and they all had foam inside. I like this model because it has a full length hinge and good feet so it will stand upright.

Q: Can this gun case be used for transport on a flight to the US.? It’s a .50 cal St Louis Hawken black powder rifle that belonged to my Dad

A: In terms of being a sturdy case to transport a firearm this will work as its a hard shell case with proper padding. The TSA requirement stipulates that the case must be made from a hard material which the case in question is. It must also have multiple locking points, some states require one lock, other require more than one lock. Your best bet is to contact US customs prior to travel to ensure you are meeting state compliance as the rules are different in many states.
