Tenacious adhesive label ruins the product

Spent half the day trying to remove the adhesive label. Exercise in futility. It’s otherwise an ideal small working and cutting surface. Your advice to use soap and water does not work because the glue is so tenacious! I’ve been taking sticky labels off consumer goods successfully for years. I regularly handle a wide range of materials including plastics and adhesives in diverse settings and environmental conditions, but getting this label and its sticky residue off has defeated me. The product is unusable because the residue can’t be removed from the working surface of the board and once mobilised, it’s spread and adhered to other parts now. At least if the label had just been applied to the back I could make-do. What a waste.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Nasty sticky Label on Product

Bought this yesterday, it has a Fiskars label stuck to it. So far I have spent 30 mins trying to remove this label using gentle heat, my normal method for factory labels. Have removed less than 10%. Paper tears at the slightest pull leaving behind a thin layer of paper and the glue. This label is attached in China at the factory, Fiskars PLEASE review this manufacturing and labelling!!!! Obviously I cannot use water or adhesive solvent as this might destroy the board!!!

Soap and water can be used to remove the label. Using heat isn't advised as it can warp the mat.

Rubber smell is potent

I think the mat is good quality but it stinks to high heaven of petrochemicals. I honestly might toss it if the smell doesn’t subside, but it also makes me wonder what it is actually made of and if I should just toss it anyway.
