      Excellent bulb

This bulb is rebranded under different names. It is a very unique design and an outstanding one at that. Excellent light output, and is one of the most dimmable bulbs out there. It dims very well on a dimmer.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      So far, so good.

My first day using it and so far so good. A bit on the pricey side, but after trying the cheaper LED bulbs and having them fail very quickly I'm willing to give these a try. My only complaint is the misleading description concerning the color of the light. The front of the box clearly says "Bright White" when in fact it is much closer to "Warm White". On the back of the box it lists the light as 3000k which is MUCH closer to the warm end of the spectrum.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Energy Saving Bulb that Works

Finally, an energy saving light bulb (ESL) that works. I can confirm that these bulbs are fully dimmable, both up and down and that they work well in an X10 system. The bulbs come on right away at full brightness, give a pleasing colour at a good brightness level. This is the first ESL that I would recommend, after years of trying to find a bulb that works with home automation. The only drawback is the huge cost, but I am sure that since these bulbs work, the price will eventually come down as people buy them. Here is hoping that they last as well as advertized. Reviews of others in the series will come as they are tested.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Very natural light, would recommend

In a side by side comparison the LED bulb had a purer quality of light than my current incandescent bulbs, and my girlfriend and I both prefer it. The light looks very natural, and the brightness is identical to my current 40W bulbs. Because of the rated lifetime of the bulb, energy savings, and environmental/ household safety (no mercury), I felt like it was a good investment too and plan to buy more over the next few months.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Questions

      1 - 4 of 4 Questions

      Q: Is it dimmable?

      • A: The product brochure supplied in the box states: "CAUTION This product is not intended for for use with emergency exit lights. Dimmable drive electronics enable dimming with most TRIAC (standard) wall dimmers"

Q: what are the equivalent lamps for 60W and 100W incandescents

      2 Answers
      • A: The A19 style Energizer here is 13Watt for the 60 Watt incan and the 100 watt incan is emerging by other manufacturers as 23 watts. Energizer A19 does not yet have a 100 Watt equivalent LED bulb that I can see.

Q: Limited Warranty? If the bulbs have a 22.8 year life why do they only have a 5 year warranty?

      1 Answer
      • A: 5-year warranty is a warranty covering manufacturer defect. The 22.8 year lifetime is based on the industry standard measurement of 3 hours per day usage.

Q: Can these be put inside globes? CFL's are not designed to go into globes and sealed fixtures and can overheat and catch fire. Are these safe to put inside a globe fixture?

      1 Answer
      • A: The A19 LED is classified for “dry” environments. It emits virtually no heat. It can be used internally in an enclosed fixture such as a globe, ceiling fan or ceiling light cover as long as the fixture is not “sealed” (taped down/wrapped/stuck down). It can also be used externally in an enclosed fixture such as a lantern as long as the fixture does not let in wetness such as rain or snow, and as long as the fixture is not “sealed”.
