Powerful capacitor

I purchased because I have a sub and amp system that may have burned out of alternator. I had my alternator switched bcuz my alternator gave out on the highway in a storm a month ago. Anyway I replaced my alternator and figured I don't want another alternator failing me during a long ride on the highway while pounding music so I bought this capacitor. I hooked it up and everything works great. My interior lights no longer dim when the music is pounding and all the power problems are resolved a thanks to the capacitor. Great item. I suggest if you have a powerful system and are running into power problems such as dimming lights or your vehicle died bcuz your alternator died to get it asap

Garbage!

Bought one. Followed charging instructions and it would not hold a charge. Returned it and got another. Same problem. Lost receipt and now I have a paperweight. Had a shop check it and it was bad out of the box. 2 for 2. Longtime CT shopper.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How is the quality of this capacitor because I'm hooking up my MTX subs with my MTX amp I think it's only 250 Watts I'm pretty sure this will power it I just want to make sure this is a good brand

Q: Needed for custom stereo/amp install? I'm installing a high end marine head unit to (4) 6x9 260watt speakers & 800watt 4ch marine amp all powered off auxiliary battery. Do I need this, or is this more of a show piece to send clean/full power to amp?

A: If there is enough current in the system to meet the demand of the 800W 4 Channel amplifier then it may not be necessary. However, this depends on the volume at which the system is run. At elevated volume and during peak musical demands, amplifiers may become starved for power. This could result in momentary program drop out or clipping. At this time, lights may also dim. To avoid power loss, we suggest the .5 Farad Capacitor and a good quality amplifier wiring kit. E1000F – 1000W amplifier wiring kit. 035-00638
