I bought it as I know the manufacturer as a reliable source for power tools, and it was on sale, too. Got a quote from a competitor jardware shop just a year ago for a similar saw from another brand, but for another hundred dollar more. Just have it for a week, it did a good job in helping preparing the lumber for my new deck. Smooth work.

Q: What finishing blade can you use with this saw and still be able to maintain the current riving

A: It all depends on the riving knife. I just got mine for a Black Friday Sale. The riving knife 0.087(2.2mm) thick. Can accept blades with min kerf of 0.094"(2.4mm) and max body thickness of 0.079"(2.0mm). The diablo blade D0840X works. Kerf is .094" and body is .063". A little tight but works. The 60 teeth version will not work. It's kerf is .079" and body is 0.55". With that said, there are many version of this saw. Mine is type 4. You can purchase a replacement riving knife for a different type of this same saw that would allow for more thin kerf options. The part number is N695948. Hope this helps.

A: Depth of cut at 45 is 1 &3/4 in . Use of Dado Blades is not recommended with the DWE7485 based on power required to drive the thicker blade.
