Q: Can I use in power steering? My car's power steering uses Dextron III automatic transmission fluid. If I want a leak-stopper, would I use ATF conditioner or PS conditioner. (This product claims to be compatible with ALL ATF fluids. Does that include using it for power steering?)
12 years agoA: If you have a slow leak, our Dura Lube Transmission product is great at conditioning the seals and preventing them from hardening which will stop a small leak. This product also replaces the lost additive content that diminishes during the life of the fluid, this will help keep the fluid longer and also reduce noise. If you have a significant leak in their power steering you will probably want to use an actual stop leak product and then replace the missing fluid with the recommended Dextron III to refill the leaked fluid. Regarding the question about ATF versus Power Steering conditioner, it is actually the same chemical material so some products will label differently but either formula can be used in Power Steering.
