The best wheel touch up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wheels were so scratched up and were losing color. Used this to help fix it and it worked so well. Made the wheels look brand new and were definitely worth it. They look very clean and it was easy to use

A: Hello. Correct, the High Performance Wheel Coating does not require a primer. We would still recommend to lightly sand the surface first so the paint can adhere correctly. Regards, Dupli-Color Customer Support

Q: Can this be used on wheels? Is it as good as the Dupli Color wheel paints?

A: No, it's not as good as the high performance duplicolor wheel paint. The wheel paint has self-etching properties which allow you to avoid sanding. All you need to do is clean the surface with soap and water, spray out with air or let it dry in the sun for an hour or two, wipe it down with grease and wax remover on a tack cloth, and then spray the paint on. Also, trading or playing cards can be slipped between the rim's lip and the tire bead so you don't have to tape the tire off if you decide to do it without dismounting your tire.

Yes, rims should be removed, cleaned well using Grease and Wax Remover, sanded to dull the finish/ remove any rust/ and expose shiny clean metal. Once sanded, clean again and allow to dry. Q: Does the product work on chrome rims?

A: The Wheel Coating should work on chrome rims and we would recommend that you use our Self Etching Primer (047-7930-4) prior to applying the paint to help with adhesion to chrome.
