Perfect for priming aluminum. Lays on evenly, sands easily and can be sprayed on thick without runs. Works well with different brands of automotive spray paints. Use primer sealer then paint.

Q: Could this be used on a magnesium engine case prior to engine enamel (<500deg F temp)?

A: Yes, but spay one very light coat that's all that's needed to adhere to the metal. Use too much and it will peel off.

Q: Can this be used on brushed nickel?

A: Thanks for taking the time to contact Dupli-Color. The brushed nickel will need to be cleaned and sanded to abrade the surface and create some texture. I'd suggest sanding with 100 grit sandpaper first. The texture created will give the paint something to adhere to. Q: Can I use it on Hood with rust left over, after cleaning most of it ? Thanks

Q: Does this work for aluminum and galvanized metals as well?

A: The self etching primer will work on aluminum but more than likely will not adhere to galvanized metal. Typically a galvanized coating on metal is fairly difficult to get an aerosol paint to properly adhere and we do not offer any specific products for galvanized metal.
