Q: does the switch on this receptacle act as a kill switch? will the switch kill the power to anyting plugged into the single outlet on the panel? because I'm looking for a receptacle that does that. thank you.

A: By default, out of the box the outlet is always on. With the break-off fin removed, then the switch has an electrically separate hot screw than the outlet. The manual calls this"switch and power outlet on separate circuits". In this configuration (break-off tab removed), you can wire the output of the switch (labelled A1) to the outlet's hot screw (labelled Common) and the switch will control the outlet.

A: Yes, break-off tabs on device permit conversion to seperate feeds. Break-off fin should be removed only when installing for seperate feed (2 circuit) operation. Please refer to instruction sheet.
