Out with the old...in with the new.

Removed the old existing wood stove and chimney. Replaced it with the new Drolet ECO-55 pellet stove. Waiting for the heating season to try it out, but by the quality of the build of it, should be fine. Bought premium hardwood pellets fuel for it also. Much safer stove type and frees up more floor space from the old wood stove.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Poor performance

We have had nothing but trouble with our Drolet 55 Pellet stove. It keeps giving an E error code for the hopper being empty. The hopper is not. We had no success in our many attempts to talk to someone at Drolet. Many calls and emails sent. So disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Very pleased and quite cozy

Surprisingly efficient compared to our old timber ridge. only used on setting 1 or 2 (of 6) as higher would make the place unbearably warm wearing anything more than underpants with the windows open. A 40lbs bag of pellets lasts about 48hrs keeping our 1800sqft home at about 22°c. Dropped hydro bill significantly as the electric baseboard never comes on anymore.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Worst stove ever

We have had nothing but problems with this stove since the day it was installed. Any auger speed above one and the burn pot overflows in less than 24hrs. Customer support from Drolet is non existent, even after repeated phone calls, no techician was ever sent to investigat the problem.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: what kind of venting is required?

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your interest in our product. This unit can be installed with either 3'' or 4'' pellet venting pipe. It's the lenght of the chimney (EVL) that will determine the size of pellet pipe to use. We recommend 3'' but if your EVL is higher then 15' then you would use 4''. Please refer to the unit's owners manual to find the complete information. You will find it on www.drolet.ca/products/pellet. You can download the manual for the ECO-55. We hope this information will help you in your selection. Should you have any further questions, feel free to contact our technical team tech@sbi-international.com or #877-356-6663 Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM
