      Best Diverter I've seen

I purchased this kit because I was having great difficulty finding what I needed for my rain barrel separately and everything was included in this kit. I especially liked that the saws were included (I had been pricing those just before this purchase and just two of the hole drills would cost more separately than this whole kit cost). I had purchased a diverter of a differing design elsewhere so primarily bought this kit for the other items included (seals and hole bits) but once I got home and read the instructions I quickly saw this diverter was far superior to the other design I had purchased. This one is also far FAR more attractive (invisible! inside the pipe). I used one kit to make two rain barrels (since I only need one hole per barrel and the kit comes with two rubber seals). It was fast to install and I was happy with the final product. The only down side is the kit comes with a cheep plastic spigot and a metal one would have been more durable (the plastic one gets chewed up by my metal hose connector so I will have to only use the plastic spigot to fill up my watering can). I am now planning to purchase a second (and getting rid of the OTHER style diverter I purchased before finding this one) so I can have one these diverters both on the front and back of the house. Overall the best diverter I've seen (or purchased) and I would highly recommend it to others.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Best downspout diverter!

I had a hard time finding a downspout diverter for my 3X3 inch downspout. Most of them are for 2X3 or 3X4 inch downspouts. This one is pretty universal and fits my 3X3 downspout nicely. Installation instruction is excellent and it even comes with saw holes that should work for most barrels. Unfortunately my barrel was a wine barrel and the wood was just a tiny bit thicker than the hole saw max depth and so had to use a Forstner bit instead and for that minus 1 star.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Will the spigot fit in a one inch threaded hole?

      1 Answer
      • A: Yes, the spigot will fit in a threaded hole that physically measures 1' diameter. But, I should mention that the technical spec for the spigot inlet is a MALE - 3/4" NPT (standard pipe thread), pipe thread is specified from the internal dimension rather than the outside dimension, so it is a bit confusing. The kit comes with its owns threaded rubber seals that fit into a 1.25" hole to be drilled in the barrel. The hole saw is included with the kit.
