    Not very useful!

    The recommended procedure is to open the bleeding valve and allow the fluid to escape while pushing the piston back into the caliper. This can be done with your bare hands! Also, since most cars have anti-lock brakes it is NOT recommended to force a caliper piston back in without opening the bleeding valve. My 2 cents.
