Just to let you guys know this product isn't very good because the wires in hose is very poor. got a new hose and 2 month later the wires in hose were shocked. so I send the vacuum to the company got my full refund back + they give me a extra $100. to make me happy. also I heard the Dirt Devil Jaguar 2 is good .

When it worked it was just OK

Now I know why this vacuum comes with a 2 year warranty. You get to use it for 8 months, then it spends the next 16 months in the repair shop. I don't want to badmouth the repair shop on this. They tell me it's almost impossible for them to get the parts from Dirt Devil.
This vacuum is very cheaply put together, and I do not recommend it.

The hose continually kinks & mine has just pulled completely away from the swivel nossel exposing the cable that runs through the hose to operate the beater bar. Now no vacuum & must spend more money for another. Really expected it to last more than 2 years!! :(

Great Suction

I just recently bought this vacuum. It shows great power in suction but the cord is a bit short so I constantly have to re plug in order to vacuum around the house. The vacuum head caddy is a little weird. I really liked it to be placed within the vacuum instead of having it be an accessorie on the hose part. There are only 3 places on the vacuum head caddy which means I have to put away 2 heads somewhere else. The body of it is small and great for storage. Overall I really liked the great suction of the D.D Jaguar Pet.

Good Value for Money

I saw this product being on sale and I read the reviews before I decided to buy it. I was pleasantly surprised with it. It works as advertised and does a good job. I recommend it to anyone who, like me, would rather not fork out $500 for a Dyson vacuum, no matter how good they are.

Q: replacement bags for SD40020cd dirt devil type R is really hoover 43-6490-4 documentation says use 43-6490 type R. that is a hoover bag and is not right. i used a type O dirt devil for now.. geesh. type O dirt devil seems to work for now but is not perfect. Very confusing wasted two trips to the store over this.

A: ok i understand the issue. The store has received their inventory wrong. The hoover type R scanned as 43-6490 not 43-7575, i had the lad check it with the mobile scanner. So the UPC in the master system could be wrong wrong fyi hoover upc is 73502 03579 So the store will not be ordering the correct sku as it thinks it has lots of 43-6490,

A: The 43-6682 Dirt Devil Jag Pet Bagged Canister takes Dirt Devil Type R bags. These bags are available at Canadian Tire, and are part number 43-6490 VAC Dirt Devil Type R Allergen Bags.

Q: indicator for replacing bag? when replacing the type R bag in our pet cannister we have a problem- the indicator light comes on immediately- can you show me how to insert the new bag?

A: The indicator is triggered by suction. Sounds like youe have a clog or dust got inside the sliding mechanism in the indicator, your motor filter may also be dirty check that as well.

Q: Loose suction very fast, which filter I need to replce or can it be cleaned I changed the bag and clean the two filters, but the suction is very low, not in working condition. Any suggestion?

A: Hello, Sorry to hear you are having an issue with your Dirt Devil Jaguar Pet Canister Vacuum. There are several scenarios that could cause this problem: - the dirt collection bag is full. Replacement bags are available at Canadian Tire. Look for item #43-6490 Dirt Devil Type R Allergen Bag. - the dirt collection bag is not installed correctly. Please make sure that the bag is inserted in the bag frame correctly, and then both the bag and bag frame are inserted back into the cleaner by sliding the large tab of the bag frame into the frame guide. - the exhaust filter is clogged. You had mentioned that you did clean it, but it may need to be replaced. The replacement filter is available at Canadian Tire, and is item # 43-6491 Dirt Devil Type 46 HEPA filter - the nozzle or the hose is clogged. If the nozzle is clogged, you may need to remove the cover in order to access the clog. Please make sure your vacuum is unplugged before you try this. Please refer to your owner’s manual for more information. If you are still having this issue, please call Dirt Devil Customer Service at 1-800-321-1134.

A: Hi Beached, We recommend replacing the bag when it is full. This ensures that your vacuum is performing at its optimum performance. Since the bag not only acts as the collector for dirt and debris, it is also the primary filter, so every time you replace it you are restoring the cleaner back to its original filtration specifications. If you attempt to clean out the bag, the filtration and performance will be compromised, the bag integrity could be damaged, and it may no longer fit properly in the unit. The replacement bags are the VAC Dirt Devil Type R Allergen Bags, Canadian Tire product number 43-6490.
