Q: Which battery? Either model number or Ah capacity?

2 Answers
  • A: Not Sure! Couldn't even find out on DeWalt's website! However, in the "Features" section for this drill, the recommended "replacement batteries" ( 9096 ) have a 2.2 AH Rating. They look bigger than the ones that come with this model though! So the other person answering your question is probably right... at 1.2 AH ?? Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Q: could this drill be used for an ice auger attachment

1 Answer
  • A: People have used these tools for those types of applications but it is not recommended, due to the high-torque requirement of this application. It would be recommended to buy a higher torque drill that not only has a stronger transmition but also comes equipped with a side-handle for increased control. If the bit bites or jams you want to be hanging on with two hands to avoid injury. That said, if you do buy this drill or one similar to it for this type of application be sure it is in the lowest gear (two speed transmition) as this will be the slower speed & higher torque gear.

Q: is it " all steel " gears or some plastic ?

1 Answer
  • A: The majority of gearing is metal but 1 plastic ring gear is present.
