Does the job
I purchased this facet to install in a linoleum, 3 hole set-up where the existing facet has finally bit the dust.
Pros:
- Easy installation
- Looks clean
- Retractable hose is nice
Cons:
- The tower is not as sturdy as I would expect it to be despite tightening down the base
- There is no stop when moving the arm from left to right so it's easy to have the water running and swing the head outside the sink making a mess. More an issue if you have kids.
- As someone else mentioned, the aerator does not work very well and has a lot of residual water splashing around the sink area
Final verdict:
It's a decent looking facet. We bought it on sale and only intend to use it until we do the full kitchen reno.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice to look at but aerator is useless.

The aerator is actually installed but totally useless as it splashes everywhere when in use. It also cannot be replaced by a better one. See one other reviewer who had same comment.

Terrible
I purchased this on sale at half off, and it was still a waste of money. The Nixi comes with a one-year warranty and, coincidentally, I started to have problems at the one-year mark.
Installation wasn't as easy as most other people experienced, it was quite a feat getting all the tubes to go through the hole in the counter, but it wasn't desperately difficult.
The escutcheon base plate (used to convert a 3-hole sink) is made of thin metal and a stiff plastic gasket. Should you splash the plate with water (which is likely), the gasket will not stop the water from running under the plate and forming mould.
The spray switch on my faucet stopped working after a year of very occasional use and will no longer stay in position for the spray option. Plus, it will not revert completely back to the stream option. Because it is stuck somewhere in between, it now leaks and makes a mess.
I would have been better off spending several hundred bucks on a durable, quality brand than throwing away a hundred on this terrible faucet.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Beautiful and easy to install
We bought this faucet mainly because of it's beautiful modern and simple design but were amazed by the simplicity of it's installation.
We have kept an eye on the finish and haven't noticed any problems on that front. (another reviewer had his peel off)
The action of the handle is nice and smooth. The head swivels freely and can go all the way back.
We are very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend this product.

Q: Does pull out have magnetic hold on it so it goes and stays back in the tap body
10 years ago
2 Answers
A: No, there is no magnet hold. The hose has a weight attached to the extra length under the sink and uses gravity to pull the head back into the body. This is the common method for most facets with this design.

Hi,i love this faucet ,the only question i have is the plate nessesary ? i would love to just install the faucet ,so is it do able ? thanks

A: Your instructions should tell you. Usually the plate is used to cover the extra holes when you are going from a three hole faucet to a single hole.

Q: How long is the pullout on Nixi Faucet?
Cuisinart Nixi Chrome Pull-Down Faucet how long is the pullout? I want to be able to fill wine carboys on the floor beside a set tub.

A: It depends on where you install the counterweight that pulls it back in. On our installation it comes out about 14 inches but if you take off the counterweight you could add another 14 inches to that easily. Passed that length, there is a "quick connect" type of connection on the pull out line and I would be careful to put strain on that part.

Q: Am considering this faucet while it's on sale. Concerned about water splashing issues. Can the handle be positioned in the middle?

A: You can vary the water pressure with a left-right movement. However, water temperature is controlled with a foward-backward movement (forward = cold; hot = back). You will need several inches of space between the faucet and your backsplash for the handle to move to the proper position for hot water.
This is a high-pressure faucet. You can reduce some of the pressure by keeping the handle at mid-range (between left and right), but that's hard to do consistently.

Q: The QR viewer opens to a blank video page. Opening the URL in a browser gets me a picture of the installation video, but clicking on the video "play" results in nothing happening (same result on PC, Mac and tablet). Why?
