The CANVAS Horizon Outdoor Patio Modular Pergola features a rustproof aluminum frame, as well as heavy-duty anchoring stakes to keep everything in place. To ensure that you and your guests are comfortable and protected, the shades included in this kit are breathable and UV resistant. When not in use, the shade canopy can be easily removed from the frame. This pergola kit also includes twist hooks that can be used to hang additional accessories such as lights, as well as manage any cords that may be inside the pergola. To really elevate your setup, pair one or several of the compatible CANVAS accessories such as the premium Bar Counter (CT# 188-1318) or the CANVAS Dawn LED Wall and Post Spotlight (CT# 052-1732).

Very Disappointed

We are on our third top for this pergola and already have 2 huge rips - the fabric does not stand up to any type wind. We paid full price for this pergola a couple of summers ago and now it's on clearance, very disappointing. Everything else about the pergola is wonderful - we have the wind down sides and that feature is amazing. Now We're stuck with a torn top and will have to put out more money and try to come up with a work around. The 'soft umbrella type top' replacement that we've seen suggested is not an option for us for three reasons - it will block the light into our bedrooms, we would always need assistance to put it up and take it down every year and it's expensive . Very disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Love the pergola in our backyard… to avoid the issues other people had with the straps fraying and breaking… I wrapped duct tape around the sharp edges. I hope that will do the trick.

A strong well built structure with a weak canopy

It took some time to customize it to our patio space, but once up the structure is pretty solid. Having said that, the canopy that was provided has some flaws that we didn’t expect when we installed it. The straps that attach the canopy to the structure are held in place by brackets that are installed. The problem with those brackets is that the inside edge is still a hard, sharp corner of metal, and as wind is always prevalent in Lethbridge, the constant rubbing caused a number of those straps to rip in half so we are having to replace those with something stronger and finding a way to negate that sharp edge on those brackets. Additionally, the quick clamps are not very high-quality because three of them broke as well. Knowing that the canopy itself was porous and unable to hold back rain, we have customized a tarp that will go over top of that and ensure everything underneath is dry.

Not worth it

After the first year of owning the soft top ripped at the buckles, had to throw the top out. For some strange reason they don’t sell the soft top shade anymore. Only some soft top umbrella type roof that seems to be worse. Very disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this product.
