Impossible de saisir une viande sur cet appareil. Il suffit à peine à réchauffer un bol de soupe. O.K. pour des saucisses ou côtelettes de porc qui ne demandent pas de chaleur intense, pas plus.

Je possède un un barbecue en céramique Cuisinant à petites espaces et je suis très déçu, il ne chauffe pas assez.Dur de faire saisir une viande.Pour le prix payer beaucoup trop cher

Great Little BBQ

Based on other reviews, perhaps I just got lucky but I bought my first one of these units 3 years ago, use it year round (more so in the winter), and it's performed really well so far. Just got a 2nd one (year end clearance) for up north. Can't speak to how well it will hold up yet as we won't start using it till next spring but I liked the 1st one well enough to purchase a 2nd one !

Buy if you have lots of $ for replacing ceramic blocks

BBQ itself is fine, but as other reviews point out, the ceramic blocks continually crumble. We are now in 3rd year of use of this nice looking BBQ. I replaced all of the ceramic blocks last year (2017) and now have to replace them all again. See attached photo. We use this bbq approximately 2 times per week. So far in 2 years use, we have paid about 25% of the purchase price just for replacement blocks. They are available OEM from a 3rd party at about 1/2 of the price at Canadian Tire, but this cost is still unacceptable. Reaching out to Cuisinart has not yet resulted in a response. Bottom line: claims of even heating may be valid, but other makes/models are just as good at even heating.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: does the lid handle get very hot?

A: The metal lid handle does get quite hot. If your unit is in the sun and you are cooking at the same time you may get burned. I took mine apart and replaced the metal handle with a mahogany dowel of the same size and it is never hot now. Get rid of the metal handle for sure.

Q: Do the ceramic blocks need special cleaning I saw this bbq in the store and wondered if the tiny holes in the ceramic inserts need cleaning. If they do what is the method?

A: Depends what you mean by special? You simply flip them over and crank the heat to burn off the residue once every few months (or season). There are full instructions with the BBQ but it's pretty well idiot proof.

A: Heat plates/ ceramic tiles should be used at all times, as they distribute heat evenly across the cooking surface . They also protect and extend the life of the burners by protecting them from direct drippings of grease, fats, salty marinades and reduce flare ups which can become out of control grease fires

Q: Rust: Any rusting parts on this BBQ? ALL my past BBQs developed rust, on the burners, or the heat plates, and ended up at metal scrap yard within 5 years, sometimes even 2. Anyone here who owned this machine for some years? What rusts? How long before it rusted? Thank you.

Q: Can the ceramic tile holder be replaced? I bought one two seasons ago and the metal rack that holds the ceramic tiles has rusted and fallen apart. Is it possible to buy a replacement tile holder? And replacement tiles?

Q: What is the max temp for the cuisinart small spaces ceramic bbq? Just wondering if the Cuisinart small spaces ceramic bbq can get the temp into the 600-700 degree Fahrenheit range.

A: Hello and thank you for your question. Depending on the burner setting, and what is being cooked, it is possible for the barbecue to reach this temperature. That being said we do not recommend cooking at such high temperatures.
