Ceramic pucks last a year if that and the pins holding the parts together last less then a season. Stupid expensive to replace each year. Absolute garbage!

Garbage! They changed them to solid ceramic pucks and it let's no heat through. Only in the gaps between the tamers. And super expensive! To add the ceramic pucks rotted and are a fortune to replace. I cannot stress enough how bad of a buy this is!

Ceramics deteriorated very fast and are expensive to replace . The ignition after a short period of time is not working, the base which is not stainless is rusting, and the drip pan has rusted right through, this is all on the top line BBQ the 900

Poor Design

We've been using this BBQ for about a month and are extremely disappointed with the performance. The design of the ceramic plates makes the food burn on the edges (where it's outside of the ceramic surface) and under cooked where it's on top of the tiles. The uneven cooking surface makes it harder to grill steaks and meats and food comes out of different quality depending on where it is on the grill. It's definitely NOT worth it for the price and unfortunately it cannot be returned once assembled and used.

A: Of course, like any other BBQ...you can convert to one another and vice versa. I have the propane right now but plan to convert to natural gas eventually once I piped out the natural gas from my kitchen out to the deck.

Q: what quality of steel is used on this BBQ? what steel for body/burners are used?

A: The chassis itself is your average Chinese stainless steel. I used to live in New Brunswick and had one there. After 2 years it began to corrode and oxidize a bit but in the maritimes that happens to everything anyway. I bought another one since moving to Alberta 18 months ago and I haven't had any issues yet. I've alway been very happy with the Cuisinart grills. It's a higher quality composite material of coated cast iron that leaves the perfect char marks and holds up extremely well over time in the maritimes and out west.
