Works very well, but Teflon coating bubbles off.

We love the idea of the multi-cooker, and were quite happy with the performance of our MSC-800...until the coating of the cooking pot blistered. Even the replacement (which we had to buy because we did not notify Cuisinart as soon as the blistering happened) blistered on the first use. We have the replacement for the replacement (notified Cuisinart immediately), and we will adjust how we use the multi-cooker so the slow cooker setting will not be on high. Perhaps then the coating will not fail. We wish there was a ceramic coating. Maybe that would not tend to blister.

I bought this unit last year before we relocated to a different city. After we moved I used it for the first time and loved it. I went to use it again a couple of weeks later and it would work for about an hour then just quit. The fan would get loud and the unit would just shut down quite like it was over heating. In the move we lost our receipt, in fact we lost our whole box of receipts for purchases. We can't return it to Canadian Tire because we don't have proof of purchase, we can't return it to the manufacturer for the same reason so here we are stuck with a very expensive paperweight. I own several Cuisinart products and have been happy with them in the past but I guess from now one, KitchenAid is my next brand name.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does this cooker shut off after the warming time

A: The unit has a timer, you can select the amount of time you want to cook and the unit will shut off after the time has passed. If you do not set a time, and only select one of the functions (ie sauté) the unit will auto shut off after the maximum allowable time set for that function.
