Excellent mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never owned a stand mixer. Due to health issues I needed something different for mixing. I am so happy with how well this works. So glad I found this deal. I’ll use it all the time now. Just curious if there is a smaller bowl.

Let’s not kid ourselves, I wanted a beautiful KitchenAid artisan like everybody else! However, upon intense specifications research, this cuisinart mixer is more powerful at 500W vs KA artisan 350W, so easier to make bread! But the thing that really did it for me was that all the accessories were stainless steel instead of chrome coated (?) like other brands like KA. It was important for me because I had experienced chrome chipping away and poison my bakes. Except the whisk, all accessories and the bowl are dishwasher safe (thanks stainless steel!). The bowl has a capacity of 5,5 quart (5,2L) so it was bigger than KA artisan. Also, at the time of purchase, both of them were on sale, but this one was 150$ cheaper. I think it’s important to note that my mixer doesn’t live on the counter, so buying a KA to put in a cupboard did not make sense. I’m not hating on KA, but if you rather have functionality, I think this cuisinart one is for you.

  • A: No, they used years ago but now it's not necessarily important in most cases. The only ones that do I believe are commercial equipment do to huge amounts.

Q: Cuisinart says max cap for flour 6 cups. Recipe book with machine says basic white bread - 8 CUPS. How is this possible please??

  • A: I do believe the mixer can handle 10 cups.  It will be advertised as litre capacity in Canada and quart capacity in the US.  All you do is google how many cups in a 5 litre or 5 quart measure whatever size your bowl is.

Q: Will this mixer handle 3.25 cups of water and 3 pounds of flour to make bread and knead it for 3 minutes?

  • A: Hi, The maximum capacity for any Yeast dough made within this unit is 6 cups of flour - which is approximately 1.75lbs. 3lbs of flour (in addition to other ingredients) would be considered over capacity. Thanks
