I like the unit but if you like to use liners then you are out of luck. I could not find any liners that can accommodate this unit. Had I known this I don't think I would have purchased it. Very frustrating.

I loved my casserole. I say loved because the lid slid out of the drainer and smashed on my kitchen floor. I can't seem to find a replacement lid on this or any other replacement part website. Buying a new one is expensive. So I have the crock and the base sitting in a cupboard.

Q: Does anyone know what temperature the slow cooker will maintain at the "warm" setting?

    1 Answer
    • A: The slow cooker will slowly, but eventually bring water to a boil. (That’s at 100 degree C). Digital units will automatically switch to “keep warm” after the specified time has elapsed. The cooker will maintain the heat but the temperature will gradually decrease. For example after the keep warm has automatically been selected, the unit will gradually decrease to about 73 degrees C after 6 hours. The same applies to a manual switched slow cooker. Except the user has to manually switch to keep warm. Therefore the high, low or medium setting will be kept at their specific temp ranges for as long as they remain at these settings and until the user switches to Keep Warm.

Q: will this slow cooker reach the boiling temperature at a curtain point during cooking? Some slow cookers seem only simmer during the whole cooking process. I only feel comfortable to eat well cooked food, which means at least being boiled for a little while even just above the boiling point. Thanks!

    1 Answer
    • A: The answer is yes. The food will come to a boil. An easy experiment is to fill the slow cooker with water. The water eventually comes to a complete boil. It just takes allot longer than a kettle or if you were to place a pot of water on a burner, on the stove. The food will cook completely in a slow cooker. The idea of the slow cooker however is a gradual heating and cooking of the food. The gradual process allows for the food to marinate and soak and absorb the various ingredients so that the consumer enjoys a sizzling, delicious recipe of their choice. The gradual heating allows for the food to completely cook over time. If it were to cook as quickly as placing it in an oven or on the stove then the immediate heat required, in the time normally required for slow cooking will result in burning and drying up the recipe. Here is an important note. Steam helps with the cooking process also with a slow cooker. The unit must remain covered during the cooking cycle. Peaking, opening and uncovering too frequently will slow down the cooking process. Again, the gradual temperature rise over time allows for slow cooking so that the consumer can place all of the ingredients into the ceramic pot, set the unit to the required temperatures and times, depending on the machine and to eventually come home to a well cooked, hot meal. I, for example, make ribs, roast, chicken and beef in my slow cooker from frozen sometimes. I always have a completely cooked meal.
