One of my smarter purchases!

I bought this lantern to read to the kids in the tent at night but was surprised that I could have actually used it as the main tent light. It produces adequate light to brighten our 14x8 tent. The previous reviewer commented on the way it is hung from the bottom and I agree it is a little iffy if it does catch any water it would go directly into the unit which resulted in the 4 stars as opposed to 5. I have not checked its water resistant capabilities but as general lighting it impressed me. Also, I have only tried this unit with batteries and not the rechargeable cartridge.

Looked Good BUT!

Great little tent lamp. However, it's not either water resistant or water proof. The lamp is hung from the bottom which houses the batteries so If you are sure that it won't rain or that your tent is totally waterproof and won't leak, it's a great light light!
