    I bought these for traveling in a group 2 cars away and you could not get the other car junk

    Bought two of these on sale a few months ago. They are now collecting dust, waiting to be listed on Kijiji as kid's toys, for a fraction of what I paid. The range is absolutely embarrassing. I skipped the two-way radios to go with CB for several reasons, but these were the wrong handhelds. Doing a range comparison between these and a pair of two-ways that cost less than half the price, the two-ways had easily 5x the range. Seriously. We've never got better than about 200m with these, in any conditions. You can pretty much just shout at each other from that range. Taking these on the road confirms how bad they are. We can scan channels the whole road trip and never hear any chatter.
