Does the job

I bought this for my quad cover so water doesn’t pool in the middle of the cover. I just placed the pole on the seat and it worked great!

Worst piece of garbage I ever purchased from CT.

The parts literally needed to be held together with duct tape because they would not stay together. Would not stand up straight and blew over with the slightest wind. Finding out you need straps when you put it together at home is not acceptable. I followed the instructions- that doesn't change how terrible it is. My bad for not reading these reviews first this time. I assumed that the simplicity of the product as described was going to be a no-brainer. I bought another product elsewhere with 2 poles at the same price and they worked exactly as expected with far better quality materials,

Q: For how much weight is each pole rated to carry? Boat Cover Support Pole Product #79-1207-8

A: Not sure about exact weight rating, but since it is basically a vertical pole, it holds all it needs to. I have my boat cover straps as tight as I want, and even after a big rain and some pooling in rear area of boat, the pole holds fine. It'd be easy to strengthen with a wooden dowel inside the tube if you really wanted to.
