Only used it on the last dock of the season but it worked very well. Might change the cable to synthetic rope sometime but so far I like it.

I've owned champion Winches for a handful of years now, and have convinced family members to buy some as well.
The 5000lb Winch is my newest addition to my double axle utility trailer, to pull things onto the bed. I made a rotating mount which allows me to pull things out of the bush, and onto my trailer.
This Winch has an extremely smooth motor, and does an incredible amount of work for me, at the push of a button. I wish I had more excuses to buy even more Champion winches lol.

Q: Thinking of using on my Hewitt boat lift with a 2500lb boat as wheel is playing me out as I get older. Would use a solar charger for battery. Lift is rated 3500 lbs to 4500 lbs depending on how many pulleys I use. Any recommendations?

Q: How long is the wiring on this Champion 5000 lbs winch . I plan on using this for the rear of my side by side and my battery is in the very front almost 10 ft away .

A: Remote Length 10.3 ft. Important to note is that the switch is located at about the middle of this distance. With half going towards the winch and the other half going towards the battery. If necessary, you can purchase additional battery cables and quick connectors for extending this distance.

Q: Is this unit power in power out? I want to adapt this to a boat loader so want control in both directions. Is it free wheel out only?

A: The remote that is included with this model winch allows you to operate the winch in both directions (IN or OUT), with the option to manually free spool it OUT, you cannot free spool it IN. Thank you!

A: The winch uses and can accommodate 15/64 cable at 38ft. This winch uses dynamic braking when under load. It should not be used to secure or suspend any loads. Thank you!
