I bought this generator when a storm went through my son's town . I grabbed it off the shelf quick because mine wouldn't start and they had a sump pump problem . This generator was easy to set up Lightweight, quiet and had enough power To power the sump pump and refrigerator Just what we needed for About an 8 hour outage. Very satisfied!

After much research on same class units, I landed on Champion Model 201046 2500W Inverter. Pulled out of the box, added oil, fired up first pull - super easy to start. Extremely quiet, easy to move around, comes as advertised. Have used for camping and during power outages, powers everything I need it too. Very happy with runtime and efficiency, I don't have to be on "alert" to fill every few hours, I just let the unit do what it needs to do. Extremely happy with the purchase, great value for the dollar.

Q: How often should i change the oil after the 5 hour break in period. 25 or 50 hours. Cant find it in the manual. Ill be installing a hour meter so i can track

A: Answer to an old question...Speaking for myself, after that initial 5 hours (with conventional) oil for break-in I then switch the oil out to a quality synthetic 5W-30. From there on I change the oil at 25 hour intervals, however I know a few that go 50 plus hours between changes. The unit only holds half a quart so the expense is minimal. Just to add, installing a magnetic dipstick is also a wise decision to help ensure longevity for any/all small engines these days.

Q: Does it require 5w-30 synthetic oil?

A: That depends on the ambient temperature that your generator will be operating in. For example, I put 10W-30 in mine. The sticker on the generator says 5W-30, but it doesn't get that cold where I use it. So 5W-30 would be a safe bet but not a requirement.

Q: what can this power? Fridge or just smaller items? If I took it camping - would it run a cpap; charge my devices; maybe power a light??

A: This unit will run a starlink a tv 2 chargers and it will still power the microwave. We even use it to power the AC unit in our camper. It also hardly uses any gas can stream for 6-8 hours straight on 4 liters of gas. We are very happy with this unit. This unit is also very easy to start/use and whisper quiet

Q: does this model have a low oil shut off ? Canadian Tire says yes. Champion site says no.

A: Hello, all Champion engines are embedded with a low oil shutoff sensor. With inverts like this one, you are just not able to see the yellow wire, like you can on the open frame generators. A: I have a 20' trailer. It starts the A/C if you run it with eco mode off (full RPM). Not sure of A/C btu, trailer is a 1999.
