I lost my caliper and had to replace it. This is the one I've had for years, however when I went to the store to pick it up (for 2x the price), I noticed: It was totally plastic. The one I had was almost all metal & sturdy. It just came in plastic disposable packaging. The one I had came in a case with a holder for a pen and extra batteries. This new one just feels flimsy and like a $0.50 item that came from abroad and marked up to $20.00. Just cheap.
No, I do not recommend this product.
