The Certified Manual 1/2-Ton Chain Hoist features a simple and efficient hand-operated design. It is compact, lightweight and has low headroom for hassle-free installation. This residential chain hoist features a hardened load chain for flexibility and longevity. The swivel hooks that are a part of this steel chain hoist have latch kits to reduce the twisting of the load chain. The Weston-type load brake on this chain puller requires no lubrication.

Q: There was nothing to mount this in the box (shouldn't there have been?). What should I use to mount this to my garage ceiling, which is drywalled?
4 years agoA: This product comes with an instruction manual. If you want to mount the hoist on the ceiling, hang a hook from the ceiling to hold the hoist, and please pay attention to ensure that the loading capacity of the ceiling is more than twice the product's loading capacity.

Q: I installed this over the weekend and is it normal that it takes maybe a hundred cranks or 5 minutes to lift tires to the mezzanine in my garage? It seems excessively slow and i would like to speed it up.
4 years agoA: The speed of the manual chain hoist is constant, but we recommend to minimize the distance between the tire and the hook before using and it will be better for lifting.

A: Please install the chain hoist according to the operation instructions in the manual. If the chain is blocked while in use, you can try pulling the chain in the opposite direction several times, then pulling it in the right direction, and the chain will work properly.

5 years agoA: This chain hoist actually has two chains, hand chain cannot lock in place. The load chain with hook can lock, please see below image

7 years agoA: The chain length is 8ft and the weight capacity is ½ ton or 500kg. The chain length may not be long enough.
