Q: Does this remove rust off of rotors?

    2 Answers
    • A: If your rotors have rust on them, using your brakes normally should remove the rust from the contact area. If you have them off, a scrub pad and WD-40 will remove the rust, use brake cleaner to clean them when done.

Q: is it safe to clean plastic switch/plug? for example, the top part of oil presure sensor is plastic

    1 Answer
    • A: Generally speaking it should be OK but saying the plastic is a very broad term as there are many different types of plastic. Chlorinated solvents in the brake cleaner could “soften” some types of plastic. You often see the statement “test first in an inconspicuous place” on product labels. This would be my advice here…test spray a very small amount and see if there is any adverse effect on the plastic. If not, then using the brake cleaner will probably be OK

Q: what's the difference between chlorinated and non-chlorinated? which one is better?

    1 Answer
    • A: Both brake cleaners are effective so it really just boils down to the different formulas and key properties of each: Chlorinated Flammability : No VOC’s : 0 Smell / Odour : Fairly strong Non-Chlorinated Flammability : Yes VOC's : 99-100 Smell/Odor: Very strong Personal choice…I prefer the chlorinated brake cleaner as the key ingredient, perchloroethylene (often used in dry cleaning), is a very effective cleaner and this product is non-flammable

Q: I would like to see the MSDS for this product. I would like to see the Material Safety Data Sheet for the Certified Brake Cleaner non-chlorinated 390g aerosol with a BLACK lid. It is different than the Pro-Strength one that is shown (which is a 525g aerosol/Gold lid).
