crude but effective

First off, I found the operating controls awkward and unpleasant to use. The tiny choke and throttle levers are very difficult to operate with gloves on and near impossible to manage with heavy mitts. This is after all a snow removal machine used in WINTER. The console levers for gear selection and the discharge chute management are clumsy. Lack of refinement in the controls is disappointing. Biggest gripe is that sometimes forward and reverse drive does not engage and it is necessary to fuss with the levers and manually coax the machine back and forth until it will move on its own. This issue began right out of the box and intermittently since then. Customer service has been less than helpful suggesting a drive cable adjustment. But as this is an intermittent problem it appears to me that something in the drive mechanism is randomly sticking requiring a deeper dive into the machine. I'll deal with that in better weather. On a positive note, this little machine does move snow reasonable well and is capable of throwing snow quite a distance. Have not experienced any chute clogging while dealing with heavy wet snow.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Cheap but maintenance is not easy

This is the first snow blower that I bought five years ago and price was very good in comparing with other similar snow blowers. Description does not say who produced the engine but I think it is produced by Champion equipment,
Maintenance is not easy. I broke shear pin once I it was not easy to find part online. I called champion and received replacement shear pin free of charge. I also broke auger belt twice. Generic belt was cheaper so I bought a 1/2" x 35" belt and it fits well. Replacing belt was not easy and needed two person to put separated parts together.
Now I think I flooded engine and trying to replace spark plug but it was tricky to remove spark plug connector because there is not enough space and I could not remove spark plug with spark plug socket, also because of narrow space. I will buy spark plug wrench and try to replace it. Canadian Tire sells NGK BPR6ES which should fit. I am not sure parts will be the same with newer product though.
Manual was not very good. Does not show how to replace spark plug. Also it would have been nice to warn users how to avoid engine flooding and so on. Overall if you are knowlegeable in using and maintaining a snow blower it could be a good cheap powerful machine for you.

Auger belt will always be a problem

I bought it 2 years ago, and since then I have changed the auger belt thrice already. and it’s not that easy to replace it. Definitely I will not recommend this!

A: It could be the tension on the cables that is incorrect. Too loose from the get go stretched out the belt or the replacement belt is not the correct one

Q: I bought this machine in the fall of 2022. Belt for the auger didn't last through the second tank of gas. First use this year, gear box failed, not even 10 minutes into the first use! Not impressed.

Q: Bought last week and worked perfectly. Halfway through clearing today it slowly stopped throwing snow. The auger spins fast with little snow but as more snow gets in, it slowly comes to a stop. I have adjusted the cable but no change. Thoughts?
